The District Board of Health provides immunizations and medical check-ups for children and youth at several locations around Mahoning County. The Board of Health also pays for prenatal care for women without health insurance from a physician or midwife participating in the Board of Health voucher program. Public health nurses at the Board of Health assist school nurses in their school health programs. A public health nurse is assigned to Springfield High School full-time.
